The Catch

A book that isn't exactly what it seems. This folded and woven accordion is also a paper version of a Jacob's Ladder in disguise. Open to find one text and an interpretation of the three face cards in a playing card deck. Flip the pages back (like a flexagon) and discover the second, hidden text, along with a musing on how what we call a wooden 2 x 4 is really a 1.5 x 3.5.

This letterpress printed book measures 2 x 4 inches, each handcarved linoleum cut illustration measures 1.5 x 3.5 inches. On the cards, upside down Queen is paired with rightside up King and with Jack. King and Jack are paired as well.
